One day out for western meals

On the December,20th, we went to Jack’s Place with grade 12 students. Our class divided into 2 groups. One wanted to go to German restaurant, one wanted to go Italian restaurant. I am in the Italian group. We went to Jack’s place with Jessica, Susan and another boy. We saw much unique Italian food on the menu. I ordered spaghetti with mushroom. Eleanor, Susan, Sarah and me ordered a pizza together. I’ve been to some western restaurants before. It doesn’t taste the same. Some other restaurants changed the style, they integrate the Chinese style with western style.
A boy in grade 12 chatted a lot with boys, and took a lot of pictures. He is a good photographer. Susan in grade 12 looks like our Susan. They became good friends. We learnt a lot of skills, it’s good for our study.
Most of the Italian food is made of cheese, when I was in France, I thought that French dishes pay more attention on refinement of the dishes. French dishes always use a big plate to have a little food. Italian food makes me have a good appetite. Italian restaurants are a good place for friends to have meals. It’s a relaxant place.
I enjoyed these experiences, I know more about the culture of western food. If I have time, I will try other western food.

Guest Artist

Our guest artist is a landscape architect.



His name is Zhao Bing. We call him professer Zhao. He came to GCA to teach us some skills of garden design.



First, he explained the definition of chinese word YUAN. The biggest "rectangle" represents the walls.represents the movements of places. The little circle represents well. The little Y represents tree forks.



Gargen this word is from Lartin.



Gargen means to use plants, hills, stocks, steam to make a living space.
The earliest form of garden is found in 11 century, in Zhou dynastry.There are 4 types of garden: Royal garden , Private garden, Temple garden, and landscape garden. Suzhou is famous for gardens. Classical gardens can make you feel in the nature.They also represent the history and Chinese culture. China has a long history. Long long ago, in ancient times, our emperors have beautiful gardens in their palace. Garden design is a tough knowledge.The most important thing of garden design is Natural feelings I think. No luxary, just make it like a nature. That will make people relax.
The environment is another part. When designing a garden, with the local environment harmony. Do not just grow one kind of plants, we need to pay attention to the plant diversity.
